Welcome to Wine Thirty!
Well, this is it:  My home-grown web site, built using Whidbey / ASP.NET 2.0 bits.  Primarily, this is just a blog about random stuff, just like the old Wine Thirty was.  However, I have greater control over the site now, so hopefully I'll be more motivated to keep it current and push content to it more often.  We'll see...

So, who am I?
My name is Randy Kimmerly.  I work at Microsoft in the developer tools division.  I started as an intern in 1987, which makes me, well... old.  I've been working on development tools pretty much the whole time I've been a Microsoft employee.  I'm currently on a team called Nautilus, working on a long-lead software development tool platform effort, all in managed code and taking advantage of WinFX.

When I'm not doing that, I'm either hanging out with my wife and two daughters, golfing, drinking wine, playing the piano, or (lately) tinkering around with ASP.NET and building this web site.  On good days, I can even do more than one of those at once.

Wine Thirty?
How'd I come up with it for a domain name?  Well, it means it's half past wine hour - as if to say "Why hasn't there been a glass of wine in my hand for the past 30 minutes?"

Although we haven't been there for nearly five years, my wife and I love going to the Napa valley in search of our next favorite wine and/or winery.  Pictured here is a nice selection from Beringer which is one of our many favorites.
